Specialized Language Course Academic Health Professions C1 Medicine (BAMF)
This course prepares foreign physicians comprehensively for the Medical Language Test C1 to obtain the German medical license (Approbation) as well as for the medical working life.
In (virtual) classroom teaching, the relevant structures as well as the peculiarities of the professional competences in the area of communication and interaction are explained (for example, taking history, case presentation, patient consent, patient consultation, documentation). The medical language skills are taught with regard to the professional competencies and are practically trained. In addition, occupational aspects of the German health system are presented in detail. For this purpose, an introduction to professional multi-professional communication is carried out in consideration of interculturality.
All teaching material is provided online on the ILIAS learning platform.
Instructors of the course are qualified teachers with appropriate degrees and pedagogical aptitude.
- Degree in medicine
- Recognized language certificate B2 (not older than 6 months, FIA, Telc, Goethe or ÖSD – confirmation of participation is not sufficient)
- Place of residence in Germany
- Valid visa / residence permit
- Proof of recognition procedure (copy of application form, if available proof of receipt)
If your B2 certificate is older than 6 months, you must participate in a free placement test.
After completing the course, the professional language test C1 can be taken at the responsible licensing authority.
The Patient Communication Test (PKT) Professional Language C1 Medicine of the FIA is recognized in the German states of Hesse and Saarland. It is up to the participants to take it off as an alternative. Here you can register for the PKT professional language medicine C1.
Qualification program certificate
After completing the course (with attendance at least 80%), the participants will receive a qualification program certificate.
The "Specialized Language Course Academic Health Professions C1 Medicine" is approved by the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees (BAMF) and can be funded with a certificate of elegibility from the BAMF if you reside in Germany. For quality assurance purposes participants evaluate the program on the e-learning platform at the end of the course. Results are discussed with the responsible teachers / lecturers.
